Hotels in Savannah, Georgia on Abercorn Street

A drive along Savannah's Abercorn Street is a drive through the storied Georgia city's history. Abercorn Street begins at Reynolds Square and East Bay Street in old Savannah, near the edge of the Savannah River. It runs west past the City Market through the heart of modern Savannah, before curving south to skirt Hunter Army Airfield at the city's western edge. All along its route, comfortable, well-appointed hotels wait to greet Savannah's visitors with matchless Southern hospitality.

  1. Planters Inn on Reynolds Square

    • For two centuries, the Planters Inn has watched over Savannah's Reynolds Square, just steps from where Methodist Church founder John Wesley's home allegedly stood. Many of the boutique hotel's 60 rooms have views of the square's statue of Wesley. A five-minute walk east, Emmett Park stretches along a heavily wooded bluff above the Savannah River. The shops and restaurants of River Street are a block further east.

The inn's amenities include Monday through Saturday wine socials and continental breakfasts. The accommodations feature digital TV, Wi-Fi, designer toiletries, weekday newspapers and robes. All rooms, including twins, have four-poster beds. Some have fireplaces, balconies with views of the square or breakfast delivery. Adjacent to the hotel is the 18th-century Olde Pink House, offering contemporary Southern cuisine with nightly entertainment. A typical evening entrée is pecan-encrusted chicken breast served with collards, sweet potatoes with pecan-vanilla butter and blackberry bourbon glaze
