If you had stayed in the Grand Hotel in 1900, your luggage would have been brought from the station in an ox cart. Now you might have to carry your own bags, but an extensive restoration means you will find the Grand looking much the same as it did then. Guests enjoy breakfast, served at 9 a.m., and afternoon cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, served at 5 p.m. If you stay here in October, you will be in the thick of the Hummingbird Festival, an annual celebration of crafts, music and food.
Two miles from the historic downtown area is the southern style Woodstream Inn. Your room will have wireless Internet, but ask for a coffeemaker. Take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool before your continental breakfast. Then you could explore Hogansville's many antique stores or head out of town to Roosevelt's Little White House, 40 minutes away. For dinner you will find Chinese, barbecue and a number of familiar chains within a mile of the Woodstream Inn.
