Elberta, Alabama Area Hotels

Elberta, Alabama is a small town of about 550 people that was founded by farmers emigrating from Germany in 1904. Elberta is known for its annual sausage festivals which take place the last weekend of March and last weekend of October. The events feature polka music, entertainment, arts and crafts booths and Elberta German sausage and sauerkraut. The town is also home to the Baldwin County Heritage Museum, where you can see antique farm equipment and learn about area farming history. There are no hotels in Elberta, but you can choose from a selection of hotels six miles west in Foley, Alabama.

    • The hotel in Foley, seven minutes east from Elberta, features crystal chandeliers and antiques while offering all the modern amenities in its eight rooms and two suites. You can choose from a wide variety of local specialties including gumbo, crab cakes, and shrimp and grits at the hotel's restaurant. Nearby attractions include the Foley Railroad Museum, the white sand beaches of Baldwin County and a number of golf courses. Birders come the area to up their bird counts during the fall migration or the annual Alabama Coastal BirdFest in mid October.

    • The Cornerstone Lodge in Foley, 12 minutes east from Elberta, features suites including fully equipped kitchens and living areas. The property offers laundry facilities and an outdoor heated pool. The closest restaurant is Lamberts Cafe, which offers a wide selection of menu choices, and specializes in catfish. Other nearby dinning choices include Shrimp Basket, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and the Tin Top Restaurant.

    Key West Inn

    • The Key West Inn in Foley, 12 minutes east from Elberta, is on Highway 59, across from the Tanger Outlet Shopping Center. Its 44 rooms include one or two double beds, refrigerators, microwaves, and free high-speed Internet. A free continental breakfast is offered and you can swim in an outdoor heated pool. You can dine at one of the many restaurants in the shopping center. The Tanger Outlet Center is one of the larges outlet shopping malls in the area, and the nearby downtown area offers antique shops, a medical museum, a selection of cafes and an old-fashioned drug store complete with soda fountain.

    Comfort Suites

    • The Comfort Suites in Foley is within walking distance of the Tanger Outlet Shopping Center, and a short drive away to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, Gulf Shores Beach, Waterville USA water park and Pirate's Island Adventure Golf. The hotel offers a free continental breakfast, free wireless Internet and has a heated indoor pool ,and an exercise room. There are a variety of restaurants to choose from in the shopping center and nearby including Mellow Mushroom Pizza, Ruby Tuesday and Applebee's.
