Sand Rock, Alabama Area Hotels

Sand Rock, Alabama sits in the northeast corner of the state, a few miles from Cherokee Rock Village, known for its large boulders challenging rock climbers of any level of expertise. Weiss Lake is nine miles southwest of Sand Rock, with fishing tournaments during the summer. To the east, Yellow Creek Falls entices fishermen and tourists to see the waters. The area has a wealth of natural rock formations and lakes for nature lovers and rock climbers.

    • The Secret Bed and Breakfast Lodge is in Leesburg, a little over four miles from Sand Rock. Two of the rooms feature a balcony with views of the valley nestled between Lookout and Weisner Mountains. The other two rooms offer a view from the balcony over a small road surrounded by natural areas. Each room has a DVD/VCR player and guests can select a movie to watch from the lodge collection. A rooftop swimming pool is available for all guests. A full breakfast is served every morning, including pancakes and french toast. The lodge also has five small cottages for a more intimate experience. Several have full kitchens and views stretching as far as the eye can see. Tony's Steak Barn and the Bar-B-Que Place are two of several restaurants in town

    Days Inn Centre

    • The Days Inn, almost nine miles from Sand Rock, is in the town of Centre. A dry bar is in each of the larger rooms. A refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, HBO and cable TV are in every room. A complimentary breakfast is part of the stay. Free high-speed wireless Internet is available for guests. Weiss Lake is two miles away, with fishing tournaments through the summer months. Boat hook-ups are available outside as well as parking for buses and trucks. Huddle House, McDonald's and Pizza Hut are in town for other meals.

    The Lighthouse Motel and Restaurant Cedar Bluff

    • Fifteen miles away in Cedar Bluff, the Lighthouse Motel sits on the banks of Weiss Lake. The motel offers one- and two-bedroom suites as well as a whirlpool and balcony room. The suites have kitchens and living rooms. The whirlpool room features a 6-foot by 6-foot whirlpool for relaxing at the end of the day. The restaurant has an extensive menu with items ranging from oysters and fried mushroom appetizers, a New York strip steak, country ham, homemade lasagna, cheeseburgers and sandwiches. Be sure to try the cheesecake for dessert.

    Weiss Lake Lodge Centre

    • Weiss Lake Lodge, also located in Centre, offers satellite TV with HBO and ESPN and a coffeemaker in each room. Microwaves and refrigerators are in the rooms as well as a workstation with free wireless Internet. Fish cleaning facilities and a tackle shop are on the premises for the fishermen. Live bait, snacks and drinks are available to purchase before heading out to the lake to catch the big one. Those traveling with a boat have access to storage and a plug to charge batteries. The lodge has a swimming pool, a horseshoe pit and a barbecue pit area. Captain D's, Lanny's Real Pit BBQ and the Waffle King are nearby for those wanting to go out to eat.
