The State of New York has pet-friendly resorts in the Catskill Mountains, on the lakefront near the Adirondack Mountains, in the Hamptons and, for those who have a taste for the Big Apple, on Park Avenue. Most of the resorts are seasonal and reservations need to be made early to secure accommodations for summer vacations.
This seasonal resort, located 2 1/2 hours north of New York City in the Catskills, is open from Memorial Day through the end of August, although some services are available other times during the year. The resort is all-inclusive during the season and includes pet-friendly rooms, two daily meals and a range of activities. A dog park is located right on the grounds. Pets must be declared and approved when making your reservation.

The Golden Sands Resort, located north of Albany on the shores of Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains, offers pet-friendly rooms. Pets must be declared and approved when you make your reservation and pets are limited to certain areas of the resort. Pets must remain on leash, you must bring a crate and barking is not tolerated. The property offers guests activities including fishing and kayaking. Facilities include picnic areas and sport courts. Trolley transportation to Lake George is provided. The resort is open May through the middle of September.

Family operated and located in the Hamptons, this seasonal summer resort is pet-friendly, allowing guests who reserve rooms in the cottages to bring well-mannered pets. The resort charges a small daily fee and pet guidelines must be followed. Amenities include gardens and landscaped outdoor areas, tennis courts with an onsite instructor and a pool.
