Hotels Near Disney MGM Studios

Disney's MGM Studios is one of four theme parks at Walt Disney World. It offers behind-the-scenes looks at Hollywood action in a park dedicated to entertainment. Here you may take part in a movie scene or participate in the American Idol experience. It is a magical world, just like the rest of Disney. Hotels and resorts abound in the immediate area. You may walk to many attractions, or take a bus or boat.

  1. Disney's Yacht Club Resort

    • Experience Walt Disney World from the Yacht Club Resort, a resort hotel designed in a New England nautical theme. There are portholes in the rooms for windows, and Disney characters are dressed in ship regalia.

The hotel has five floors with many rooms to fit your needs, from single beds, double beds and two- or three-bedroom suites. Room costs depend on garden or pool views.

Behind the resort are two lakes that cover three acres, with slides, replicas of shipwrecks, lagoons and a slow river. A 25-acre lake is also behind the facility; you may rent paddle boats or pontoons for a fishing expedition or for sightseeing. The resort also has a 24-hour playground for children, and formal or informal dining.

Disney's MGM Studios is a short walk or boat ride away from the resort.

    Disney's Beach Club Villas

    • Disney's Beach Club Villas are next door to the Yacht Club Villas and the two share some amenities: the lakes in back, both Stormalalong Bay and the 25-acre Crescent Lake. Stormalong Bay has a water park theme, and there is a full sandy beach at Crescent Lake. The lakeside also has spas and pools as well as a fitness club.

The beach theme is maintained at this resort. Studio rooms have a queen-sized bed and a sleeper sofa. Rooms have a private porch or balcony and there is satellite TV with Disney programing. High speed internet is available, along with microwave and refrigerator. One- and two-bedroom villas are also available with separate living areas with sofas.

Beach Club Villas are in the Disney complex within walking distance--or a short bus or boat ride--to MGM.
