The Padre South Hotel is a South Padre Island beach-front property on the Gulf of Mexico. It is a popular vacation destination among students during Spring Break. A passport is required for hotel guests wishing to visit Mexico during their stay.
The hotel features efficiency rooms and 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom suites. Each option has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and patio or balcony with ocean view. Rooms accommodate 4 adults, suites accommodate 6. A car is not necessary on the island, as most attractions and other businesses are within walking distance. Pets are not allowed.
Amenities include courtyard Jacuzzi and pool, 24-hour front desk, large lobby with pool table and library and in-room wireless Internet. Recreational activities such as horseback riding, kiteboarding, tennis and golf are nearby.
As of September 2010, room rates start at $49 (not including tax) with a 2-night minimum stay. Hotel guests under the age of 30 are required to pay a damage deposit upon check-in.
