Sanibel Island is a barrier island near Fort Myers, Florida, and the southwest coast. The Island Inn offers an assortment of cottages and resort rooms on its 10-acre property that includes more than 500 feet of un-obstructed beachfront. All rooms come equipped with refrigerators, phones, wireless Internet, cable TV and air conditioning. Units are mixed into three separate lodges. Single and duplex cottages offer full living rooms and kitchens with beachfront or palm-forest views. Full American breakfast buffets are served daily. Recreational facilities include a swimming pool, tennis courts, shuffle board and a butterfly garden. On-site dining is announced by the blowing of a conch shell every night at 5 p.m. Fresh fish, meats and poultry dishes are served in a Florida heritage-style dinner room that is open to the public.
