Moosomin, Saskatchewan is located where Highway 1, the Trans Canada Highway, meets Highway 8. was named after a Cree Indian chief that led a rebellion in 1885. Moosomin sprouted in as an agricultural town 1882 because of the Trans Canadian Railroad. The railroad brought the first settlers who built a few hotels, stores and a couple of blacksmith shops. The town has population of 3,500 people. The small community of Moosomin is noted for rich farmland and oil, gas and potash mining industries.
