DeRidder is a small town located in southern Louisiana and less than fifty miles from Lake Charles. The town was founded back in 1903 and remains a small, southern community that is rich in culture relevant to the towns railroad heritage. DeRidder is just under eight square miles in size and as of 2009 there were 10,000 residents.
