Haunted hotels offer a unique stay to any guests willing to seek them out. Not only does every creak in the floorboards or gust of wind suddenly bring about an entirely new significance, but if you can get the hotel's workers to tell you a few tales of the ghosts residing there you can learn a little about the history of the town. Dallas has a handful of haunted hotels for those who want an interesting place to stay in while possibly foregoing the ability to have a good night's sleep.
The Adolphus Hotel reportedly contains the ghost of a young bride--seen walking the grounds of the hotel still in her white wedding gown--who was left at the altar and subsequently ended her life by hanging herself in the hotel. Guests also have reported bottles and other objects moving of their own volition in the hotel's bar, although there's a good chance those were caused by the ingestion of other kinds of spirits.

Hotel Lawrence houses quite a number of ghosts, including a man who lost his life savings in a poker game (the hotel's second floor used to contain a gambling lounge), as well as laundry carts that seem to move by themselves and cold spots in the hotel's lobby. However, if you're looking to not sleep a wink the entire night, reserve a room on the 10th floor, which reportedly contains the ghost of a woman who fell to her death in the 1940s, a congressman who committed suicide, and room #1009 reportedly gives hotel staff fits whenever they try to open it due to some unseen force on the other side of the door.

According to a pool attendant who used to work at the Renaissance Hotel in Dallas, the rooftop of the building is haunted by a man who jumped to his death from there. The man reportedly landed on the lawn on the west side of the hotel, which also might contain his spiritual residue. Numerous accounts also have been reported of sounds in the men's bathroom in the lobby that, when someone went to investigate, were found to be completely empty.
