The Netherlands, which is also commonly referred to as Holland, is a country located in northern Europe, next to Belgium and Germany. Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands. Dutch is the language spoken most frequently in the Netherlands, though English is also taught in many public schools. Approximately 17 million people live in the Netherlands. There are plenty of hotels located across the country, especially in large cities, such as Amsterdam and The Hague.
Find a list of hotels in the Netherlands. Use an Internet search engine and search for "hotels in the Netherlands," or visit a hotel website, such as hotels.com or travelocity.com, and search for hotels in the Netherlands, or in a particular city or region in the country.
Review the list of hotels. Read a list of the hotels' amenities to make sure the hotel has everything you are looking for in terms of features and characteristics. Examine the hotel's location and proximity to attractions, restaurants, shopping, museums and public transportation. Verify that the price range is acceptable for you. Spend a minute or two reviewing several hotels until you find the one you are interested in booking.
Select the hotel and book your reservation. You can usually book your stay online using your credit card through the hotel's website or another travel site. Alternatively, you can call the hotel directly and make a reservation using your credit card. When you make your reservation, obtain your confirmation number for future reference. Your confirmation number will allow you to make changes to your reservation, and will help the hotel staff find your reservation when you arrive.
Bring with you your confirmation number and the credit card you used to make your reservation when you check in.
