Just minutes from Governor Dodge State Park, The House on the Rock in Spring Green provides access to many outdoor activities, including hiking, boating and fishing. However, the resort itself has many attractions. In fact, the main feature of the resort is a giant museum-like home that includes a mix of artistic architecture, themed displays, strange inventions and antiques. Among the exhibits are the "Streets of Yesterday," a replica of an authentic 19th century town; "The Carousel," which features 269 animals, 182 chandeliers and 20,000 lights; and the window-lined "Infinity Room," which juts more than 200 feet out over a valley like a horizontal tower.
The House on the Rock also features two hotels. The resort hotel features 80 one- and two-bedroom suites, each with a private balcony or patio. The luxury hotel also contains two indoor pools with hot tubs and saunas, an outdoor pool with a hot tub, full men's and women's locker rooms and a workout facility. In addition, the hotel is surrounded by 27 holes of championship-level golf and 18 miles of trails.
House on the Rock Inn is 7 miles from the resort. However, this hotel still features a handful of extra amenities, including an indoor pool, hot tub, themed kiddie play pool, arcade room and fitness center. In addition, the 114 rooms are available in seven different sizes, some with in-room hot tubs.
