Minocqua, also known as \"The Island City,\" is a small resort town located in northern Wisconsin. The town is a popular destination for tourists and sees an increase in population during the summer months. Minocqua’s economy is heavily dependent on tourism, and popular summer activities in the area include swimming, water sports, boating and fishing. Minocqua is a popular hunting destination during the fall, and winter activities include snow tubing, snowmobiling and sleigh rides.

Lodging options at the resort include condominiums, log cabins or a single cottage. The Beacons' eight condos feature full kitchens, fireplaces and up to three bedrooms. The log cabins offer a more private atmosphere with up to four bedrooms and a full kitchen and covered porch. The cottage includes a kitchen, dining area and one bathroom, and sleeps up to six adults.

Minocqua’s Sunset Bay is located just off US 51 along Minocqua Lake. On-site activities include fishing, swimming and boating. Other activities, including hiking and horseback riding, are located within walking distance. Sunset Bay’s accommodations feature cottage-style housing with fully-equipped kitchens that include refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and all necessary cookware. Each cottage is also equipped with private bathrooms, televisions and bed linen. A beach is located on the property and includes a fish-cleaning station and dock, along with free access to paddle boats, canoes and trolling motorboats.
