Disney Villa Vacations

Disney's deluxe villa accommodations, part of the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) properties, are open to cash reservations by the public when DVC members have not filled the units. These rooms are often located in or near some of Disney's most popular hotels and theme parks. The four levels of units generally provide more space for vacationers and a more homelike atmosphere.
  1. Studio Villas

    • Studios are the ground level of Disney villa accommodations because they are most similar to a traditional hotel room. At Disney World, most studios sleep four, with a queen-size bed and pullout queen sofa. Old Key West Resort has a second queen instead of the sofa. Studios also have a kitchenette with a small fridge, sink, toaster, microwave and dishes, making this a great choice for smaller groups that don't plan to cook on vacation but might want to have breakfast items or a quick snack in the room.

    One-Bedroom Villas

    • One-bedroom units also usually sleep four---units at Bay Lake Tower and some units at Animal Kingdom Villas sleep five---but have added space and amenities that studios don't have. Units have a separate king master bedroom and bathroom, plus a living area with queen pullout, dining area and second bathroom. The kitchen has full-size appliances and enough dishes, pots and pans to feed eight people. Cleaning supplies are included; because this is a timeshare, housekeeping is not performed daily in any Disney villa unit unless guests pay an extra fee. The piece de resistance for some families might be the washer and dryer included in this space, perfect for washing out all traces of the Mickey Mouse ice cream bar that became part of the kids' wardrobe.

    Two-Bedroom Villas

    • Two-bedroom units have a second bedroom with a queen bed and sleeper sofa or two queen beds. These units sleep up to eight (nine at Bay Lake Tower and Animal Kingdom Villas). In some cases, a two-bedroom unit is a connecting studio and one-bedroom that have been opened up, providing guests with two kitchen areas. DVC members refer to this as a "lockoff." Two-bedroom villas feature two balconies or patios.

    Grand Villas

    • The largest groups will probably look for a grand villa, which sleeps 12. These units vary widely in layout; some consist of connecting one- and-two bedroom villas (for a total of three bedrooms, plus a pullout in the living room). Others are bi-level. They typically have three balconies or patios.
