Jasper, Arkansas is located in the north central part of the state, nestled in the Ozarks mountain range. Ozark Bluff Dwellers is less than 10 minutes' driving distance from Kyle's Landing, a canoeing facility on the Buffalo River. Situated on the far western edge of Jasper, Steel Creek is less than 10 minutes' driving distance from Lost Valley State Park and Hawksbill Crag. These recreational areas offer paths for hiking and nature walks as well as ATV trails. The two cabins at Steel Creek include cable television, a living room area, dining room, fully furnished kitchen and whirlpool tub. Both cabins also have picnic areas with barbecue grills and a stone campfire pit. Horse owners can take advantage of the on-site equestrian center. Horse care facilities at Steel Creek include stalls and horseback riding trails. Golfing enthusiasts who stay at Steel Creek should hit the tees at the nine-hole Oakridge Golf Course in Huntsville, Arkansas, less than 30 minutes from the cabins.

Lookout Mountain, situated at the southern end of Jasper, is less than 10 minutes' driving distance from Buffalo River. The resort is also less than 15 minutes from the Hurricane Creek Wilderness Area, a recreational site that offers trails for nature walks as well as opportunities for birdwatching and elk sightings. Three cabins reside on the Lookout Mountain resort: Wolf Cabin, Bear Cabin and Eagle Cabin. All the cabins can accommodate up to eight people and have fully furnished kitchens with stoves and refrigerators as well as a living room area with a fireplace, queen-sized bed and television. A picnic area with barbecue grills is accessible to all the cabins. The Bear Cabin has a ramp for disabled guests. Each cabin at Lookout Mountain is smoke-free and pets are not allowed. Guests at Lookout Mountain can take advantage of the Fall Color Tour, hosted by the Newton County Beautification Committee in October. This guided bus tour travels through 60 miles of country roads in and around Jasper and provides opportunities to view fall foliage and wildlife.
