Wisconsin is home to forest preserves, scenic lakes, state parks and several waterfalls. Visitors come to explore the geography, enjoy local food traditions–such as the Friday fish fry–and escape to one of the rustic cabins located throughout the state.
Washington Island, accessible only by boat or ferry, is set on the point of water where Lake Michigan meets the Green Bay. The Washington Island Camping Retreat features rustic cabins that include a half bathroom, microwave, refrigerator, bunk beds, sleeping loft and futon. The grounds feature a lodge with a fireplace, game room, camp store, laundry facilities, showers, miniature golf course, tennis courts and a volleyball pit. While visiting the island, tour the Ostrich Farm, ride the Cherry Train, eat at one of the local restaurants or rent a bike to explore the island. Attractions outside the island include shopping, fish boils, restaurants, museums and art galleries.
