Sturgis, Norquay, Preeceville and Kamsack are all within 15 minutes' drive of Canora. The town of Sturgis boasts the Black Bear Inn and the Sturgis Motel, while Norquay has Norquay Accomodation, a furnished vacation rental home. Preeceville has the Lakeland Inn Motel, while Kamsack -- near the Manitoba border -- offers the Duck Mountain Lodge, Duck Mountain Motel and Woodlander Inn.
The area surrounding Canora offers some of the best hunting and fishing in the region, and an extensive year-round trail system for riding, snowmobiling and ATVs. Canora's historic sites include the Ukrainian Heritage Museum and the Ukrainian Heritage Church, the latter boasting a fully-restored interior in the Kievan Byzantine style. The train station is the oldest of its type still in operation in the province, and houses the Station House Museum. The town also holds two weeklong annual festivals, Canora in Bloom and Winter Lights, which offer a variety of events and activities.
