From the land, the Florida Keys are some of the most beautiful, most tropical, stunning vistas in the United States. From the sky, the views are even more so. Experience the Keys, Gulf of Mexico, Florida reefs and Atlantic Ocean in ways Ernest Hemingway could have only dreamed of. Several skydiving operations operate exclusively in the Keys, with opportunities for divers of all experience levels. Whether jumping tandem or free fall, you will be hard-pressed to find a better place to land.

Instructions

    • 1

Check into Skydiving companies in the Keys and southern Florida. A few companies feature Keys diving including Skydive Sebastian and Skydive Florida Keys.

    • 2

Your instructor will work with you on learning jump positions, when to pull the shoot and prepare you for a scenic glide to earth.

    • 3

If you are jumping in tandem, you will be harnessed to your instructor before the plane takes flight. As your plane reaches jumping altitude you can take in the views of the United States' southernmost beaches.

    • 4

You will fly about two miles above the Keys before leaping out of the plane to begin your descent. For about five to seven minutes you will glide downward at speeds up 130 miles per hour or more.

    • 5

Your instructor will guide you back to the ground, directing you to a landing in the beautiful Keys.
