Parents may purchase wood-crafted toys for their children at Mentone's general store.

South Sauty Creek Resort (southsautyresort.com) is on the eastern shores of Lake Guntersville. This campground is in the heart of Alabama's Appalachian foothills and features 51 RV campsites. The Lodge at Lake Guntersville State Park (alapark.com/lakeguntersville) provides fishing and boating facilities on the 69,000-acre lake. Children may swim in the lake near the resort's sandy beach, which is adjacent to the campground area.

Located in western Cheaha Resort State Park, Camp Mac (campmac.com) is a youth resort where kids may attend summer camp. This camp provides the Junior Term program for children grades two to five and Senior Term programs for children grades three to nine.
