Other amenities include shower facilities and a dump station. Hawkins Creek allows cats and dogs onto the campground for no additional charge. However, when dogs are outside of their owner's RV, they must be on a leash of at least 6 feet. This campground also has three ponds for fishing; fishermen must return all their catches into the pond.
The Holiday Inn Express (hiexpress.com) in Morehead City is approximately 25 minutes from Emerald Isle. This hotel allows pets to stay in designated rooms for a nightly fee. Only one pet may stay in a room. Hotel amenities include an outdoor pool, fitness room and a breakfast room in the lobby. Some of the hotel's suites have dining areas and a sleeper sofa. The hotel is within five minutes of restaurants on Arandell Street, such as the Tsunami Buffet and Brandy's, which serves breakfast. Hunting and fishing activities are available at the Croatan Game Land, less than 10 minutes from the hotel.
Emerald Isle is a 20-minute drive from Goose Creek RV Resort (goosecreekcamping.com), an RV campground with over 700 campsites with water, electricity and sewage. Pets may stay on the RV campground, but dogs must be kept on a leash of at least 6 feet when outside of the RV. Other resort amenities include a dump station, picnicking area with barbecue grills and shower facilities. Goose Creek allows tent camping; these sites have water and electric hook-ups. Avid golfers are a 10-minute drive from the Star Hill Golf and Country Club. Nearby seafood eateries include Fairway Restaurant and the Fish Trap.
