Daytona Beach offers a variety of special events all year long that are suitable for families, couples and singles.
In addition to the Daytona Beach International Speedway's Daytona 500 in February and Coke Zero 400 in July, the area has pristine public beaches and several golf courses.
The Main Street Pier at the east end of Main Street is 106 years old and 1,000 feet long, with panoramic views of the ocean and shoreline, fishing and a restaurant.
Biketoberfest, held every October, is an extended weekend festival for motorcycle enthusiasts and includes motorcycle shows, demonstrations and manufacturer booths. Participants get a chance to ride their bikes on the Daytona International Speedway track.
A half marathon is held every October. In December, take a leisurely luncheon cruise. The Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach hosts special events and exhibits year-round.
