The RV park at The Breeze, a property with a hotel and condos in addition to a campground, is a short walk from the Gulf of Mexico beach. Concrete pads, large enough for the biggest self-contained RV, have full hookups including cable, 30- and 50-amp service, sewer, water and Wi-Fi. Sites, some pull-throughs, are separated by a strip of grass. The Breeze is open year round, with reduced rates from October through February, and accepts monthly rentals in the off season. The proprietors recommend reserving the single beachfront RV site well in advance.
Named for the spot where Stephen F. Austin landed on the Texas coast in 1823, family-friendly Austin’s Landing RV Park & Resort is one block from the public beach. Half of the 20 RV sites have concrete pads and most of the sites have 30- and 50-amp service; the remaining six have 30-amp hookups and all have water, sewer and Wi-Fi. Daily, weekly and monthly rates are available year round. Surfside Jetty, a county park with a playground and volleyball courts adjacent to a fishing pier, is two blocks from the campground.
The upscale and pet-friendly Beachfront RV Park & Resort has 30 sites with full hookups including Wi-Fi. Each site has a grassy area in front of the concrete slab for the RV, and some sites have a fenced area for campers’ dogs. The beach and a viewing deck are a short walk from the entrance to the park, and outdoor showers are available for rinsing the sand from your feet. Campers have use of a giant chess set, a volleyball court and horseshoe pits, lighted for night play. Beachfront is open year round, with daily and weekly rates during the summer and daily, weekly and monthly rates in the off season.
Surfside Beach RV Park, located a few blocks from the beach but near the restaurants and stores of downtown Surfside Beach, has large full hookup sites, most of them pull-throughs, with cable television and Wi-Fi. Patches of grass planted with small palm trees separate the sites. The park accepts small, indoor pets and sites are available on a daily, weekly and monthly basis year round. Campers who enjoy watching boat traffic can walk two blocks to the Intracoastal Waterway, a shipping and boating channel conceived in 1808.
