Fairbanks, located in central Alaska's Tenana Valley, offers chances for hiking and mountain climbing in the White Mountains, as well as fishing and kayaking activities in the Chena River. The resort is only a five-minute complimentary shuttle ride to the Riverboat Discovery attraction. This riverboat offers three-hour cruises on the Chena River, and guided tours to historic sites, including the Chena Indian Village. The RV park is only a 10-minute drive from Fairbanks International Airport.

    Chena Marina RV Park

    • Situated on Float Plane Pond, the Chena Marina RV Park is only a 10-minute drive west of downtown Fairbanks, and features an on-site marina with boat slips and fishing piers for the exclusive use of the resort's guests. Campground amenities include a picnicking area with barbecue grills, laundromat, shower facilities and RV campsites overlooking the pond. Each RV campsite offers sewage, water and electric hook-ups. If guests need assistance, the resort's managers live on the property, as of fall 2010. The RV park is open from the spring through the fall, and only offers monthly rentals during this period. The resort is only a five-minute drive from off-site fishing and kayaking activities on the Chena River. The Chena Marina is far enough away from the city that during the months of August and September, RV guest have clear views of the "Northern Lights" phenomenon.

    Riverview RV Park

    • The family-owned and operated Riverview RV Park in North Pole is less than 15 minutes from Fairbanks, and is within an hour of hiking and mountain climbing opportunities in the White Mountains. Chena River State Recreation area is only a half-hour away from the RV park, and it offers chances for hunting and bird watching. During the winter, you can take advantage of guided cross-country skiing tours provided by the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks, whose office is only a 15-minute drive from the RV park. Reservations are recommended for the 160 campsites at Riverview RV Park. Each campsite has hook-ups for electricity, water, cable television, Wi-Fi Internet and sewage. The campground has a laundromat, shower facilities, miniature golf course and an on-site convenience store that sells groceries, RV supplies, gas and ice.
