Parents can choose from several resort-style offerings within an hour's drive from the major Orlando amusement parks. Seeking an outdoor playground designed with adults in mind? Oceanfront camping and a recreational facility are available in the Florida Keys, within walking distance of local bars and restaurants.
Rates vary widely depending upon the location and amenities offered at the campgrounds. Nearly all oceanfront campgrounds offer the basics; full electric hook-ups and dumping stations. Seasonal rates generally peak during the winter and summer months. Vacationers can select from either long-term or daily rate packages. Some facilities offer special packages for "Snow Bunnies" who plan to spent the entire winter on-site.
Travelers should find a campground which fits their traveling style. Christian-based Florida campgrounds offer chapel services and a quieter environment, sans alcohol and late night events. Family oriented campgrounds tend to offer supervised or organized activities for children, and typically offer a wide range of outdoor recreational opportunities. Senior citizen-style campgrounds routinely offer recreational opportunities which appeal to older adults, such as shuffleboard and zero-entry swimming pools.
