    • Cool Waters RV Park is five minutes south of Nelson, and 20 minutes from the nearest ski lodge. The park is on the western end of Kootenay Lake, and also has a small creek on the property for fishing. Elephant Mountain is in the park, and offers panoramic views of Nelson. Each site comes with full hookups, cable television and Internet access. There is no dump site in the park, but the local sanitation department will allow campers to use their facility, which is 10 minutes from the park. The rate is $30 per night.

    Castlegar RV Park

    • Castlegar RV Park is between Nelson, Castlegar and Trail in British Columbia. There are nine golf courses in the area. The park itself is on 23 acres of forested property, which offers shade for each campsite. The park is open from April through October. There is a bathroom on site with coin-operated showers. There are also two coin-operated laundry facilities. Each site has high-speed wireless Internet access, picnic table and full hookups. There are sites for big rigs and smaller RVs. Restaurants and grocery stores that sell propane are five minutes from the park. The park allows pets and has a fenced-in pet area for off-leash play. You can purchase fishing licenses at the office at Castlegar.

    Kokanee Creek Provincial Park

    • Kokanee Creek Provincial Park is open from May through September. The park has several beaches, playgrounds, a visitor center and hiking trails. The camp has a boat launch, marina, and group camping sites. Ainsworth Hot Springs and Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park are within a one-hour drive. There are 168 vehicle-accessible campsites that allow one RV and one additional vehicle. The additional vehicle comes with an extra charge. The park allows pets, but they must be kept on a leash and off the beach area. Kootenay Lake does not have lifeguards on duty. Each site has a fire ring and can hold a maximum of eight people. The park does not allow hunting, firearms, or mushroom picking.
