RV Parks in Los Alamos, New Mexico

Los Alamos, New Mexico, came to fame as the home of the Manhattan Project, which created the world's first atomic bomb; now thousands of visitors travel to Los Alamos annually. The town has two museums that commemorate the Manhattan Project. Located about an hour northwest of Santa Fe, Los Alamos also features miles of trails--both hiking and four-wheeling--that extend into Santa Fe National Forest. Nearby, RVers will find plenty of places to stay.

    • Cottonwood RV Park, located in Espanola Valley, features 40 sites among mature trees. The park offers both pull thru and back in sites. Each site has full hookups plus wireless Internet and leashed pets are allowed. Amenities include a community bathroom, laundry, shower, onsite yoga, a beauty salon, massage and restaurant. The park is near golfing, casinos and downtown Los Alamos.

    Trails End R.V. Park

    • Trails End R.V. Park's 10 sites are located in Santa Fe National Forest, about 45-minutes from Los Alamos. The nearest store and restaurant is a few miles away, but the national forest offers access to Native American ruins, miles of hiking and four-wheeling trails and desert vistas. The park is open from spring through fall, only accepts people 21 and older and allows pets--but pets must be pre-approved and reservations are required. The park limits the size or RVs allowed: the maximum for motor homes is 38 feet, for fifth wheels the maximum is 36 feet and the maximum for pull trailers 34 feet. Each site has full hookups, a picnic table and fire ring.

    Roadrunner RV Park

    • Located about mid-way between Los Alamos and Santa Fe, Roadrunner RV Park has 63 full hookup sites and offers wireless Internet. Each site is pull thru. The park accepts pets but they must be leashed. Nearby facilities include a grocery store, laundry and several restaurants. The park is across the street from the Poeh Center, a museum and cultural center of the Pueblo Indians.
