    Prescott National Forest -- Lynx Lake Recreation Area

    • Lynx Lake Recreation Area is part of Prescott National Forest and is located approximately 20 minutes from downtown Dewey. Lynx Lake is one of the most popular recreation areas in central Arizona, with more than 90,000 visitors every year. Lynx Lake is situated at 5,500 feet and is a 55-acre man-made lake. The recreation area offers visitors boating, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, gold panning, horseback riding and birdwatching opportunities throughout the year. Lynx Lake Campground is open from April 1 through October 31 and offers 36 tent, trailer or RV sites with a fire ring, grill and a picnic table. It has paved roads, can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet and features vault and flush toilets, drinking water and a dock. No electric hookups, dump station or shower facilities exist at this campground.
