DC Numbers are assigned to offenders sentenced by the State of Florida when they enter the Florida Department of Corrections custody/control. Out of state offenders are assigned DC Numbers when their transfer is finalized and under control of the Florida Department of Corrections.
DC Numbers are sequentially generated numbers ranging from 14000001 through the current number. The format of the DC Number consists of 8 digits (DC01234567). The number is typically associated with the inmate's name, date of birth, and sex while incarcerated in the Florida Department of Corrections.
However, the State of Florida does not publicly disclose the criteria for assigning DC numbers to prison inmates.
