The Rose Garden Banquet Center (therosegardenwausau.com) is the only facility of its kind in the Wausau area. Rose Garden is locally owned, and was established in 1971. The center is equipped to host all types of parties for up to 475 guests. Patrons may rent the entire banquet hall, half the hall or one section. Menu choices include full dinner, light dinner, lunch, breakfast, dessert and hors d'oeuvre. The center has ample parking and an expandable dance floor.
Wausau Mine Company (wausaumine.com) is designed to look like the inside of a gold mine. Guests enter through what looks like an abandoned mine shaft, and inside, authentic mining artifacts add to the illusion. The restaurant has a special room for parties on its upper deck. The menu includes pasta, prime rib, soups and salads. Another casual location, 2510 Restaurant, can hosts parties of up to 60 guests. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, steaks and chicken. Guests celebrating birthdays receive discounts according to their age (50-year-olds, for example, receive a 50 percent meal discount).
Back When Cafe (backwhencafe.com) is located in a 100-year-old building, one of the oldest in Wausau. The restaurant features indoor and outdoor dining, with three private rooms for parties on its second floor that can accommodate up to 250 guests. Dinner entrees include chicken Marsala, chicken Piccata and roasted pork tenderloin. The Wright Place on 6th (wrightplaceon6th.com) is housed in an 1881 Craftsman-style house built by Ely Wright. Discover Wisconsin magazine calls the restaurant "charming, elegant, but without stuffiness." The restaurant, which features private rooms for parties, is known for its desserts.
Jefferson Street Inn (jeffersonstreetinn.com) has several banquet rooms on its second floor that can accommodate up to 500 guests. The inn also has private dining rooms in its on-site restaurant, City Grill, an American bistro. City Grill offers steaks, salads, seafood and pasta. Stewart Inn Bed and Breakfast (stewartinn.com) can host parties of up to 60 guests. Each event rental includes overnight accommodations for up to ten people. The inn is housed in a 1906 Craftsman-style house with a large front porch and extensive gardens. The inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
