How to Disembark Cruises

Your cruise vacation is over and you're ready to get home and relax, but you have to disembark first. On the final night of your cruise you have to choose what you need for the rest of the night and your last morning aboard and set your luggage outside your stateroom door, unless you want to carry them off the ship yourself. On the morning of disembarkation you will wake up early, gather the remainder of your belongings and attempt to wait patiently for your turn to get off of the ship.

Instructions

Attach the luggage tags that your stateroom attendant left in your stateroom on the final night of your cruise. Place your luggage outside of your stateroom before midnight. Take note of the color of your luggage tags.

    • 2

Call the number listed on your stateroom phone to arrange a wake up call for the final morning of your cruise. Most cruise ships start the process of disembarkation between 7 and 8:00 a.m..

    • 3

Wake up, get dressed and go to breakfast, if you choose. The buffet begins serving breakfast early on the Lido Deck, usually at 6:00 a.m., and the formal dining room also begins serving breakfast at this time. Room service breakfast is also available on the final morning of your cruise.

Listen for the ship-wide announcement over the loudspeaker in the hallways and main areas on the ship for information regarding the disembarkation process. You will be directed to a main area of the ship based on the color of your luggage tags. From here you will wait until the Captain announces it is your turn to disembark. Passengers with early flights get to disembark first, based on the information they provided about their flights when they booked their cruise.

Walk to the main atrium deck when your color is announced over the loudspeaker. Have your passport and the photo identification card, which you also used as your method of payment aboard your cruise. This was issued you when you checked-in for your cruise.

Follow the signs through customs, presenting your passport when asked. If you left your luggage outside of your stateroom the night before you'll need to follow the signs to baggage claim to collect your belongings.
