The Best Vacation Spots in June

Traveling in the summer is a natural for people in the United States. This is the time of year when school is out for the children, the weather is the warmest and it is easier to get time off of work. But many places become overcrowded, overpriced or both during the summer season. This sometimes causes people to re-think their vacation plans. But there are some excellent vacation destinations around the world that are perfectly suited to a June vacation.
  1. The French Riviera

    • If you'd like your vacation to include rubbing elbows with the affluent, eating at the finest restaurants and relaxing at one of many clothing optional beaches, then the French Riviera is a good destination for you in June. St. Tropez is a delight for travelers who want to enjoy all the best of what the Riviera has to offer. Gourmet food, lots of nightlife and a short drive to other day trip destinations like Cannes and Nice. Visiting this area in June is ideal to avoid the masses of tourists from across France and other parts of Europe. The entire month of June up through the first two weeks in July are a good time to visit because the real holiday season doesn't get going here until the last of July and into August. When August arrives, the streets, clubs and beaches are packed. This way, you'll have more space for you and your family and still get to enjoy the beautiful weather.

    The Caribbean

    • Belize can be a bargain in June.

June and July are part of what the travel industry refers to as "shoulder season" in the Caribbean and Mexico. Shoulder season is the time between peak season and low season when the tourists are still in the area to some extent, but do not crowd the streets and shops. Yet the towns and villages are not completely dead during this time and the local merchants do not close up shop for the season. Finding a beachfront rental in Belize, Panama, Nicaragua or less-traveled destinations in Mexico saves travelers significant bucks, as opposed to a late summer visit when Europeans are packing the resorts and edging up the prices.

    Singapore

    • Singapore has been called the America of the East.

Singapore has been called the America of the East because of its cosmopolitan style, commercial offerings and the fact that American tourists can feel comfortably at home in the far-away country. Although the weather here is a bit sticky in June, it is still an excellent time for sightseeing. The frequent rain showers keep things humid, but are welcome when you are out navigating one of the many attractions in the area. In addition, the crowds here are thinner than they will be a month or two later in the season. Come to Singapore to bar hop, experience some of Asia's best shopping opportunities, visit beaches and meet dolphins on Sentosa Island or even take a safari ride in the dark.
