    Beach Activities

    • Crystal Beach includes seven miles of sand in the central portion of Bolivar Peninsula's 27 miles of white sand. Along this beautiful stretch of beach there are ample opportunities to have fun in the Texas sun next to, or in, the water. Swimming in the Gulf of Mexico's clear blue waters is perhaps the most popular activity in Crystal Beach. Seeking shells along the beach, shoreline fishing, horseback riding in the shallows and along the beaches, building sand castles, surfing and kite boarding await visitors to this beach town.

    Drive on the Sand

    • One of the unique aspects of a day at Crystal Beach is the ability to drive right on the sand. The well-compacted sands throughout the peninsula make for scenic off-roading in your car or in one of many "gulf" carts available for rent along the beaches. Instead of lying in the sun all day, take a break and drive beside the water and people watch for a few miles. Since Texas law allows public access to all beaches throughout the state up to the mean high tide line, you can drive as far as you like along the peninsula without the worry of trespassing.
