A mega-resort fantasy world, the Atlantis has a lavish water theme based on its location in the Bahamas. Swimming, snorkeling and encounters with marine life are some of the amenities found in the public areas also teeming with shops, restaurants and casinos. A sprawling complex that claims the 'largest marine habitat in the world' also contains many hotel room options and daily activities and as a result, there is much to know. A few helpful tips will enable a smooth stay at the Atlantis and will create an enjoyable vacation for you and your family.
Book your flight in advance. When traveling to the Atlantis, the airport that should be used is the Nassau International Airport, with an airport code of NAS. Most airlines offer a non-stop flight into NAS. Also, each passenger will need a valid passport or proof of citizenship to enter the Bahamas.
Determine what you will need while at the Atlantis prior to departure. If you remain exclusively at the Atlantis resort, you will not need to exchange money before your vacation. A credit card on file is required and everything in the resort can be signed for and billed to the room. Contact your cellular provider and inquire about your international roaming options if you plan to make calls from the Bahamas.
Decide where you would like to stay. The Royal Towers are the hotels' most expensive rooms and live up to their namesake with glamour and location. The Coral Towers and Beach Towers still offer proximity to fun and activities, but require a longer walk to reach everything, so keep that in mind if you are traveling with small children. Harborside Villas can accommodate an entire family and has the added convenience of a shuttle that can transport guests around the resort. All standard guests rooms are limited to a maximum of four people with a fifth being allowed if that guest is under four years old.
Arrange an airport transfer in advance. Taxis will be available at the airport to take guests to the Atlantis, or you can arrange for a hotel transfer with the resort while booking your vacation on line. Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check out is at 11 a.m. If guests arrive early, there is a Transit Lounge and Hospitality Cavern where guests can freshen up and store luggage.
Enhance your experience by purchasing a meal plan in advance. The Atlantis is not an all-inclusive resort, but does provide varied meal plans depending on where guests prefer to dine within the resort.
