London is famous for its elite shopping and historical significance. There are many attractions one must visit to get the full British experience.

    • An important British custom is tea time. Every day from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., everyone stops to take a short break to enjoy tea and biscuits. Many hotels offer a tea time, or you can learn how to drink tea properly at the tea museum.

    Bridges

    • Most people grow up singing the song "London Bridge" but are heartbroken when they arrive in London and realize London Bridge is just that, a bridge. Most people expect the large, famous Tower Bridge to be the landmark. Regardless, both bridges are large tourist attractions in themselves.

    Castles and Palaces

    • Two of London's most well-known attractions are important parts of royal history. The Tower of London draws millions of visitors every year to see the bloody tower and the former palace of the monarchy. People also flood to Buckingham Palace for a possible glimpse at today's royal family or to see changing of the guard.

    • London's art scene has always been large, and the city houses many popular collections. Tate Modern and Tate Britain are different museums that are free, and contain contemporary and classical art. The National Portrait Gallery contains portraits of many artists, celebrities and royal family members.

    • The best way to see London in a short time is by a guided tour. You can choose from bus tours, boat tours or walking tours. Walking tours can be geared toward the parts of London you want to see.
