There are three ski resorts in the Park City area;The Canyons Resort, Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley Resort. Park City itself is a historic mountain town with a vibrant shopping, dining and cultural scene.
Located near the Park City exit of I-40, The Canyons Resort is the closest Park City ski area to the Salt Lake International airport. It takes about 45 minutes to drive there from the airport.
Park City Mountain Resort is the most visible ski area in town. There is actually a ski lift that crosses over Main Street, making the resort very accessible to the downtown area.
Deer Valley is considered one of the more luxurious ski resorts in North America. It's a bit more expensive, but the lift lines are generally shorter.
The ski areas of Park City hosted many events during the 2002 Winter Olympic games.
Park City is home to the Sundance Film Festival every January. The streets and slopes are packed with movie industry people, so skiers may want to avoid the area at this time, unless they are interested in celebrity sightings.
