So we all have heard the saying, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." Well, there is good reason for that saying, mostly because those who claim that statement really can't even remember what happened in Vegas. Why? Because of all the free booze. Free drinks (as well as a multitude of other free things) are not hard to come by, as long as you know where to go, and how to act.
The first step on your quest for the free drink is to stay away from the larger strip casinos. These casinos tend to be high volume, and mass amounts of people. Although you may still get free drinks at these places, most likely you won't get them very often. There are only so many cocktail waitresses to go around. Stick to the smaller casinos and you will probably double, even triple, your free drinkload.
The second step in your quest for free drinks is buying $100 at the least, in credit or chips your first sit down. You don't necessarily have to gamble that much, but it will cause the dealer to have to call over the pit boss. The pit boss is the man in charge when it comes to doling out the free stuff. If he feels you are a high roller, you may have some free stuff rolling your way. Most likely you are not going to get comps for things like rooms or VIP treatment unless you are consistently betting at least $10 per hand, for more than an hour. However, I have seen the pit boss talk to a waitress after someone bought a substantial amount of chips on their first sit down, and let me tell you, that man's glass was never empty from that point on.
The most important tip of all to getting the most out of your free drink experience is learn how to tip. I know this article states "free drinks" but honestly, what good is a free drink if you can't get the waitress to bring you one? If you tip the waitress at least a buck each time she brings you a drink, you will never be without.
So what about the quality of alcohol. You have probably heard that casinos water down their free drinks. Well, what do you expect? With how many people that visit Vegas every day, doling out that many free drinks can add up. If you really want to cheat the system go for the bottled beer. Not all casinos comp them, but it doesn't hurt to ask. That way you will know that you are getting the full level of alcohol in your drink. But honestly, why complain? It's free anyways, right?
So what if you don't drink? Don't worry, I have never been in a casino yet that doesn't offer soda products as well. In fact, many have stations that you can just walk up to and get as much as you want.
