Disney Transportation Tips from Orlando Airport

There are numerous ways for travelers to get from the Orlando International Airport to the Walt Disney World Resort. The United States' busiest vacation destination is serviced by shuttle buses, rental cars, public transit, limousines, taxis and a Disney exclusive shuttle that offer rides to and from the airport. The following options will help you travel seamlessly between the Orlando Airport and the Walt Disney World Resort.
  1. Disney's Magical Express

    • If you are staying at one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels, you can receive complimentary shuttle service to and from Orlando International Airport via Disney's Magical Express. Disney Hotel Guests will be able to bypass airport baggage claim and head directly to the Disney Magical Express Welcome center located on level 1 on the Main Terminal Building's side B. Guests will enjoy a smooth ride in an air-conditioned shuttle that provides door-to-door service.

      An added perk of traveling on the Disney Magical Express is the luggage retrieval service. Disney Magical Express gets travelers' luggage and delivers it to their hotel room within 3 to 4 hours of their check-in. The luggage retrieval service is available daily for Disney Hotel guests arriving on domestic and international flights from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Travelers arriving before or after these times will be required to retrieve their own luggage.

      Travelers are required to reserve transport on Disney's Magical Express when they book their hotel reservations online or by calling (407) 939-6244.

    Car Rental

    • All of the major rental car agencies have an airport location. Notable rental car agencies at Orlando International Airport include Avis, Hertz, National, Budget, Enterprise, Dollar and Alamo. In addition to offering service at Orlando airport, National and Alamo also have car rental locations at the Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel.

    Limousines

    • Limousines are a pricier way to travel to and from Orlando Airport and Disney World. There are a variety of companies that offer limousine service in numerous types of limos. Types of limos include luxurious town cars and SUVs and the average hourly rental costs approximately $50 to $85 an hour.

    Taxis and Airport Shuttles

    • Taxi service is available outside of the baggage claim area. Vans and taxi cabs provide non-stop service to the Disney World Resort for approximately $45 one way, regardless of the number of travelers. Splitting the cost of the cab with friends or additional travelers is a great way to save money and travel to and from the airport as quickly as possible. Gratuities are not included in cab fare.

      There are a variety of shuttle services that offer transportation between Disney World and the Orlando International Airport. Shuttle vans generally charge $25 to $30 per person for one way travel.

    Public Transportation

    • Orlando's LYNX public transportation buses offer direct service from the Orlando Airport to the Walt Disney World Resort at a cost of $4 per person, per way. The ride from Orlando International Airport to the Disney World Resort is approximately 45 minutes.
