The Tin Lizzie Saloon is a high-class yet still comfortable spot for locals and out-of-towners alike, providing a safe space in the heart of Orange County for the gay population to enjoy a glass of wine in a plush atmosphere.
The MetroQ, located at 19092 Beach Blvd. in Huntington Beach, is a relatively new gay bar and grill in Orange County. It was opened by a Huntington Beach native in 2009 to fill the gay bar niche that opened when the popular Boom Boom Room closed in 2007. The MetroQ offers an extensive menu, from bar snacks to burgers, and features a Sunday brunch every week starting at 10 a.m. It's a popular spot for sports fans, offering 12 plasma screen televisions showing the NFL on Sundays, and two billiard tables for the pool league. The MetroQ also has a full bar, offering domestic and imported draft beers on tap as well as fine wines and cocktails.
Also located in Huntington Beach, and just down the road from MetroQ, at 18528 Beach Blvd., is Ibiza Bar and Nightclub. Ibiza is open every night of the week, usually with a minimal or no cover. The atmosphere is less upscale than Tin Lizzie's Saloon, and has more of the neighborhood dive bar feel that speaks to its original incarnation as a rocker bar. Ibiza Bar and Nightclub features live DJs most nights of the week, as well as a packed entertainment schedule offering drag performances, ladies nights and local bands.
