Griffith Park, one of largest municipal parks in the country, sits approximately eight miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Boasting more than 4,200 acres of land, the park offers numerous attractions appropriate for toddlers, including a carousel, two kiddie train rides and scores of picnic facilities. The Los Angeles Zoo, which plays host to over 1,100 different animals, resides within the park as well. Guests can also visit the Griffith Park Observatory which features scores of hands-on science exhibits geared towards children.

The beloved Santa Monica Pier dates all the way back to 1909. Today it contains such toddler-friendly activities as the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, a carousel and an arcade. The pier also features its own amusement park, Pacific Park, which in turn offers a host of children's carnival rides and games. Guests can choose from a variety of dining options, including pizza, ice cream and funnel cakes. The pier includes five sit-down restaurants as well.

Situated just 20 minutes from Los Angeles, the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach focuses its attention on life in the Pacific Ocean. The aquarium highlights more than 11,000 animals throughout its three galleries and 32 exhibits, including a lorikeet forest and a shark lagoon. Additional services may include a cruise of Long Beach harbor or the viewing of an educational 3-D film relating to the ocean. Guests can easily walk to The Pike, a neighboring region filled with family-friendly restaurants and rides.
