Bromley Sun Mountain Adventure Park near the town of Peru is a popular theme park for children. Containing a mix ranging from water rides to the new Sun Mountain Flyer, Sun Mountain Park contains entertaining rides for all preferences. The Sun Mountain Flyer is a cable ride through out the park and the mountains that surround it. At some points through out the ride, the cables lift people well over a hundred feet above the ground. Other activities at the park include miniature golf, giant trampolines, climbing walls, and bumper boats (an aquatic take on bumper cars). Stowe Golf Park is a favorite amongst families and tourists. The park offers an 18-hole miniature golf course featuring landscaped lawns and fields for sporting activities.
The Northeast Kingdom offers many activities for children. It features petting zoos, hayrides, and fresh fruits and vegetables for children to sample and investigate. The "Kingdom" also offers museums of early American society, and the Fairbanks Museum displays animals, artifacts, and Vermont's only planetarium. Vermont is the leading producer of maple syrup. One of the most unique activities for kids in Vermont is to take a tour of the Maple Grove Farms Museum and Factory in St. Johnsbury. The Maple Museum offers an overview of the history of maple farming, its origins, and where the industry is today. After viewing the museum, take a tour of the factory. Along the tour, view the kitchen where maple candies are made, then move to the sugar factory and see where maple sugar is processed, and finally experience the favorite part of the tour: the maple sugar tasting.
