The Frisco Historic Park and Museum (townoffrisco.org) is a free attraction with authentic structures that showcase the town's heritage and history. The only building located on its original site is the Schoolhouse, which was built in 1899 as a saloon. Other buildings have been moved to the park since its opening in 1983, including the 1881 Frisco Jail and the 1946 Log Chapel. The Wood's Cabin, built cerca 1860 and moved to the park in 1998, is the oldest structure in Frisco.
The Frisco Adventure Park (friscoadventurepark.com) is year-round, family-friend attraction in the Peninsula Recreation Area. During the winter, the park features a tubing hill and a freestyle terrain park for all skiing and snowboarding abilities. During warmer months, the park offers visitors a bike park, as well as hiking and biking trails. The Peninsula Recreation Area is also home to cross-country trails, baseball and multipurpose fields, a skateboard park, picnic facilities, campgrounds and dinner sleigh rides.
The Frisco Marina (townoffrisco.org) on the shores of Dillon Reservoir Frisco Bay is a full-service marina in a scenic mountain setting. Sailboats, powerboats, canoes and kayaks at the marina are rented to families interested in exploring the 3,000-acre lake. Sailboat lessons and tours are also available at the marina, which boasts a picnic area and playground. Each year in February, the marina hosts a community bonfire and fireworks to kick off the Gold Rush Weekend -- a cross-country skiing and snowshoe event.
Copper Mountain (coppercolorado.com) is an approximate 10-minute drive south of Frisco. In addition to ski and snowboard trails, the resort offers tubing, snowmobiling, dog-sledding and snowshoeing opportunities. For children 6 and under, Critterland is a winter playground at the base of the mountain. Youth-oriented lessons and camps are available for skiers and snowboarders, as well as aspiring BMX riders during the summer. For intermediate skiers and snowboarders, the Woodward at Copper is an indoor facility for youth interested in progressing to the resort's terrain park and half-pipe.
