Kids Activities in Naples, Florida

The city of Naples is located in the southwest region of Florida near the Gulf of Mexico beaches. As of July 2008, it had a population of about 21,532 people. Naples is home to a number of dining, shopping and recreational opportunities. If you are traveling with children, the city also boasts several kid-friendly activities.
  1. Naples Zoo

    • Throughout the day at The Naples Zoo, children can learn from professional zookeepers and see how the animals are cared for. One of the zoo's permanent exhibits features two African lions, and the exhibit teaches visitors about the different issues faced by these animals in the wild. According to the zoo's website, the Black Bear Hammock exhibit is the largest black bear exhibit located east of the Mississippi River. Additional exhibits at the zoo include Alligator Bay, Leopard Rock and Tiger Forest. Admission is $11.95 for children ages three to 12, and $19.95 for adults ages 13 to 64

    Collier-Seminole State Park

    • Collier-Seminole State Park is a 7,271-acre park offering great scenery and local wildlife. There are many great outdoor recreational activities for the whole family to enjoy. Visitors can explore the park along its many hiking and bicycle trails, or go canoeing along the Blackwater Rivers. Other amenities at the park include picnic areas, public grills and campfire circles.

    King Richard's Family Fun Park

    • King Richard's Family Fun Park offers a variety of kid-friendly activities, including video games, laser tag and an interactive dance machine. There also is a batting cage with different level speeds available to cater to all skill levels. The park is best known for its go-cart tracks. Children taller than 58 inches can drive their own go-cart. Smaller riders can accompany the main rider on the park's double-seater go-carts.

    Collier County Museum

    • The Collier County Museum was established in 1978. Its mission is to preserve the history of southwest Florida. According to the Collier County Museum website, the museum is located across five acres of native Florida gardens. Children can check out the museum's historic cottages, a Seminole village, a 1910 steam logging locomotive and wildlife displays. Admission is free.
