Venice, Florida, a small city that is surrounded by water, has something for everyone who goes there. Three different bridges give access to the main part of the city. Centennial park is open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and is often used as a place for festivals and outdoor activities. Children are welcome as long as there is an adult present. The park has gazebos, bathrooms, picnic areas and paths for walking, biking and jogging. There is also an area designated for children to play. The fountains provide children and adults alike a fun way to cool off in the summertime.
Paw Park has a fenced-in dog park that leads to an area of beach where dogs are allowed to play. Paw Park has bags for owners to pick up dog feces, benches, drinking fountains for humans and dogs, as well as picnic tables and areas for dogs and their humans to play. Paw Park is located on South Harbor Drive and is open from 7 a.m. to dusk every day of the week. This is the only park in Venice where dogs are allowed off leash. Children are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
The Venice Fishing Pier has amenities such as places to sit down and fish, picnic tables, bathrooms and a bait shop. The Pier is 700 feet long and located on South Harbor Drive. Only two fishing lines may be used at one time by one person, and there is no swimming allowed within 300 feet of the pier. There is a handicap accessible boardwalk for people who have wheelchairs and plenty of handicap accessible parking.
The Venice Area Beautification center has developed the Venetian Waterway Park as an area that locals and visitors can explore and use to appreciate some of the area's natural beauty. The park is open to walkers, skaters, bikes and families. There are scenic views and plenty of chances to view wildlife. The Venetian park offers 10 miles of natural beauty with amenities including places to barbecue, picnic tables, bathrooms for the public to use, benches and plenty of areas for children to play. The Venetian Waterway park is located along Venice's inter-coastal waterway and you can find parking on Golf Street, by Circus Bridge and by Airport Avenue.
The Main Street area of Venice has a variety of activities to choose from. Restaurants from all walks of life are located along Main Street along with shopping at small outlets and art galleries. Antique and art studios that are located on the strip include All In the Frame, Stillpoint Studio and the Venice Art Gallery. Gift stores include Bonnell's Boutique, as well as Cleopatra's Bath & Body. Restaurants include Bogey's Restaurant & Sports Pub, Bella Luna Cafe and Cassariano Italian Eatery.
