Located in Lake Placid, Henscratch Farms is one of Florida's few certified farm wineries. The 10-acre farm offers a variety of activities ranging from berry picking to wine-tasting. The farm grows muscadine and scuppernong grapes, which are varieties native to the area. Apart from growing berries and producing wine, the farm also raises chickens and sells fresh eggs in its country store. Avon Park Air Force Range is the largest Wildlife Management Area in southwestern Florida and the tenth largest in the state. The park attempts to balance habitat management with public recreation, offering both nature trails and wildlife viewing with outdoor activities such as small game hunting, fishing and camping. There are 32 miles of hiking trails for public use at the park, taking in Lake Arbuckle, Sandy Point Wildlife Refuge and a 12-mile-long trail along the Kissimmee River.

Located 15 minutes from Sebring and Lake Placid, Airboat Wildlife Adventures specializes in scenic tours of the diverse ecosystems of southwestern Florida. Tours run for an hour and a half, and explore the 28,000-acre Lake Istokpoga and several miles up Arbuckle Creek.
