Bus Tours in San Francisco

San Francisco offers a multitude of open top and coach bus tours, some narrated, for those tourists wishing to see all the city has to offer. While some are specialized, for instance wine tours to Sonoma County or Napa Valley, others simply show all the sights that have served to make this city-by-the-bay famous. Keep in mind that there are other ways to tour San Francisco, including cable cars, trolleys and even helicopters.
  1. Alcatraz & Double Decker City Tour

    • The Alcatraz & Double Decker City Tour takes visitors to many of San Francisco's best attractions. Tours are seven days a week, every 15 to 30 minutes and allow riders to get on and off at any of the stops. Those who purchase the City Sightseeing's Double-Decker Downtown Loop ticket have 48 hours to see some of San Francisco's most famous attractions. The City Sightseeing's Double-Decker Downtown Loop includes Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Union Square, the Embarcadero, Civic Center, North Beach, the Ferry Building, Lombard Street and Pier 39. There are three loops total---The City Sightseeing's Double-Decker Downtown Loop, Golden Gate Loop, and Night Loop tour. The Golden Gate Loop does a "photo stop" at the Palace of Fine Arts, travels over the Golden Gate Bridge, makes another photo stop in Marin County and finally goes on to Alcatraz while the Night Loop tour offers city sights by twilight, a treat in itself. Prices start at $76 (prices current as of February 2010).
