The best way to travel to destinations in Copper Canyon is via the Chihuahua-Pacifico Railway, also known as the Chepe train. To see the the best views of the area scenery during daylight hours, start your journey from the Los Mochis or El Fuerte station and ride towards Chihuahua City. For the most comfortable train ride, travel the First Class Express which includes reclining seats, a club car, a restaurant and well-equipped washrooms. The economy class route, the Clase Econmica, departs two hours later than the First Class Express train, makes frequent stops and only sells food through mobile vendors. Make the most of your trip by scheduling extra time to explore Copper Canyon by departing the train at Chihahua, Creel, Divisadero, El Fuerte or Los Mochisan. Book your hotel reservations in advance to guarantee you will have a place to stay before exiting the train. During your excursion, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour, hiking or horseback riding before re-boarding the train for the next stop. Train tickets are tightly controlled and you will have to specify the dates and times of travel upon ticket purchase. Tickets will be issued based on your itinerary.
