Training through the Disney Learning Connection is open to all licensed travel agents in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada, including home-based agents, agency-based agents and wholesale reservation agents. Agents must create an account on the Disney Travel Agents website to access the Disney Learning Connection. A valid ARC, The Air Transport Association (IATA) or Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) number is required to create an account. Agents must also enter their contact information, answer a few questions, and create a username and password.
Disney travel agent training includes a variety of online and in-person educational programs. The College of Disney Knowledge provides the most extensive education. It is a series of online courses that agents can complete at their own pace. The Disney Learning Connection also gives agents an opportunity to participate in live web seminars and view pre-recorded web seminars. Additionally, agents may be eligible to attend on-site agent education programs to experience Disney’s parks, resorts and cruises first hand.
Disney travel agent training provides detailed information about Disney’s top destinations. The College of Disney Knowledge offers courses about the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, the Disneyland Resort in California, Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney tours and itineraries, Sales Fundamentals and Marketing Fundamentals. After completing each section, agents must pass a test in order to receive credit, and pass a final exam to graduate from the College of Disney Knowledge. The Disney Learning Connection also provides product update and refresher courses.
All travel agents who register on the Disney Travel Agents website will have access to brochures, posters, personalized postcards, email templates and other free marketing collateral. Graduates of the College of Disney Knowledge will also receive a certificate, graduation cap with Mickey ears, lapel pin, newsletter subscription, press release template to announce their new designation as a certified Disney specialist, and discounts on Disney tickets, hotels and cruises. Graduates who take the next step and complete the College of Disney Graduate Program will receive additional rewards and benefits.
Several hours are required to complete each course and pass the tests to graduate from the College of Disney Knowledge. Travel agents who do not plan to sell many Disney vacations may not want to spend the time training, and it is not necessary for agents to complete the training in order to sell Disney vacation packages. In addition to the Disney Travel Agents website, Disney vacation packages are available through a number of wholesale suppliers and reservation systems.
