Take into account the members of your traveling party. Determine what type of food everyone likes, as this will help determine what restaurant is right for you. If you have picky eaters with you, a restaurant at the American kiosk or an all-you-can-eat place like Garden Grille may satiate their hunger. If you are feeling adventurous, the World Showcase has many options.
Call the restaurant to make reservations. During your trip, carry a paper that has the parks' restaurant numbers written down. If you have an iPhone or and iPod Touch, download the Disney World application. This application will have the restaurant numbers listed in the restaurants portion of the application.
Give the phone operator the number of people in your party and the time you expect to arrive at the restaurant. Some restaurants are busier than others and may need to ask you to make a reservation at an earlier or later time. Some restaurants in the World Showcase like Le Cellier, Chefs de France and Tutto Italia are often busy and may ask you to move back your reservation.
Also, let the operator know whether you are part of the Premium or Platinum Magic Your Way meal plan. At some restaurants at the World Showcase--Tutto Italia is one of them--you are eligible for priority viewing for IllumiNations, a nightly show.
Give the phone operator the number you can be reached at just in case another party cancels its reservation. If this happens, you may receive a call or a text message letting you know there was a cancellation, so you may move your reservation if you so choose.
Arrive at the restaurant about a half-hour to 45 minutes earlier than your reservation. If you arrive early and your table is ready sooner, you can be seated ahead of your reservation time.
Visit the World Showcase armed with some cash and a healthy appetite and take a walk to all the "countries"--food stands and counter-service restaurants that offer ethnic foods. Pick food you may have never heard of or never tried before such as Kaki Gori--Japan's version of the American snow cone, or a falafel pita from Morocco's Tangierine Cafe.
