For an up-close look, take the Cave of the Winds tour. During the tour, you will descend one foot deep into the gorge where you will enjoy a wet exploration of the base of the Falls. The price of admission includes water protective clothing. Other attractions at Niagara Falls State Park include the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center, which showcases the history of the Falls, the Niagara Scenic Trolley tour and a visitor's center. Some attractions at the park, including the guided tours, Observation Tower and Discovery Center, require a separate admission charge.

    Aquarium of Niagara

    • The Aquarium of Niagara is just a short walk from the Falls. It has over 1,500 sea-dwelling creatures on display including moray eels, California sea lions, piranhas, sharks and Peruvian penguins. Throughout the day, the aquarium conducts several presentations where you are able to learn more about some of the animals. Visitors may observe the shark or penguin feedings, watch a seal presentation at the outdoor pool or be entertained during a sea-lion training session. For an additional fee, you can participate in one of the animal encounters at the aquarium, which allows you to feed the sea lions or get up close and personal with one of the animals.

    Maid of the Mist

    • Since 1846, the Maid of the Mist has been taking visitors from around the world on boat tours of the base of the Falls. The launching dock for the tour is at the bottom of the Observation Tower at Prospect Point in Niagara Falls State Park. From there, you will proceed on a half-hour tour that will take you to the near the base of American Falls and to the basin of the powerful Horseshoe Falls. You will be provided with a souvenir rain poncho as you may get a little wet while navigating through rock formations and the crashing waters of the Falls. Maid of the Mist tours operate seasonally during the warmer months.

    Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel

    • The Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel is the only resort on the American side of Niagara Falls. It offers over 500 rooms, including deluxe rooms and suites along with upscale amenities.
